Thank you for another of your well observed, funny posts of light relief. :)
I agree about the borders. βBorder faceβ. Iβm remembering the time I hurriedly ate a bag of cherries as I crossed Belgium to France on a coach in my 20s because I had it in my head that discovering my innocent paper bag of them would possibly result in not only confiscation but possibly a European travel ban π
I arrived in Paris tongue and fingers stained purple π
Ha - I can relate to the cherries! Something about transporting 'plant material' across borders? I worry about taking an apple! I also hate 'wasting' water and end up glugging the contents of a huge bottle down - cue needing copious pees throughout flight x
Funny, Fi! The incongruous packing sounds very familiar. Glad the toenail clippers made it home safe. Phew, eh?! Good luck flipping over to editing mode. x
I was wondering about the toenail clippers! God bless the Spanish postal service πͺπΈβοΈ
So speedy and efficient - I'm impressed! x
"...unless you leave it for a time and then come back, you can never smell your own home?"
Ooh, and consider the opposite. All the people's houses you visit, with their unique smell... Aren't being smelt that way by their owners!!
That's very true! I wonder what creates that unique smell? I honestly didn't realise ours had one...

Thanks Wendy! Yes - there's something so weirdly satisfying - exciting, even - about the arrival of something you've posted to yourself!
