This made me lol as we had our eldest child and partner visiting recently & my youngest who’s still at home says ‘ oh I see he’s getting the red carpet treatment again!’ 😆
Loved this latest episode of All Grown Up, luv. When I was growing up we actually had three generations living in our house, but it’s a double with two (probably illegal) bedrooms built into the attic. Six bedrooms and two baths in all. Had all my hopes crushed when Amazon notified me that The Full Nest will not be shipping as planned on May 1. Don’t those ninnies (=your publishers) know by now to print a lot of copies? Nitey-nite, luv!
Loved The Full Nest and love this, Fiona. That photo of young you!
Yes, the amount of scurrying I do when children (and grandchildren) visit, is ridiculous. They do not care! But my son's face if I've run out of artisinal Kombucha, on the other hand… (To be fair, he pays halves when he's here as that stuff costs a fortune.)
I stayed with him once (when invited) when he was a student, creeping to the one shared bathroom very tentatively in the night (God forbid young men should see me in my dressing gown!) and letting him cook me spaghetti bolognese. We all survived and his housemates were lovely.
Haha love it! Maybe one day my child will actually leave home for five minutes so this can happen?? (Thank god you’ve got mice and moths too - they must be a new Southside trend)
Very much enjoyed The Full Nest and appreciate the link to Lauren Bravo whom you mentioned at the Edinburgh Bookshop talk. Her piece on Shirley Hughes is brilliant- I loved her children’s books and read them to all the kids and grandchildren. Her observations about the mums and the messy houses are so spot on. 😍

All the best people have them! But weirdly we’ve had them in every home we’ve lived in 😬 Has your dead under floor one desiccated yet? X
Hmm, me too (weird). Yes! The smell has receded enough for me to actually sit in the living room now!
