My husbands mantra when keeping anything from assorted rusty screws to odd shaped bits of plastic is “you never know when this might come in useful”. We have several outbuildings filled with such items.
THIS. My husband is the same way and he also hoards old, enormous speakers and stereo equipment and when we are out shopping at charity stores he always wants to buy MORE old speakers. It's baffling. Well done getting the bookcases OUT!
Haha - we have an outhouse too, and guess what, it is jammed to the rafters with bits of wood that "might come in useful" (what else would you expect from a man who has 30yrs worth of hot water bottle stopers secreted in a drawer?) Not totally his fault though, I am just as bad and would never throw away a bit of wood - annoying thing is, that when we DO need wood, there is never a piece in the stash that is the right size!
With me it's rubber bands and paper clips! Whenever either comes into the house, into the relevant drawer it goes for later use. Proud to say I have never had to buy either of these items in my life.
Also the owner of a couple of Billy bookcases - very useful for books and stuff - mainly stuff - lots of stuff!
My Dad had a garage full of wood for things he was going to build one day!

Hello Pam! :) If we had outbuildings I can guarantee they'd be full

Yes I know people who do this (with speakers and audio stuff). Is it to take them to bits and tinker about with their insides? It's a mystery...x
